Aldra Katherine Shultz, 88, of Memphis, MO, died May 24, 2005, at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
  She was born on August 15, 1916, in Scotland County, MO, to Elmer Milton and Addie Agnes (Roberts) Wright. Her elementary and high school education was completed at Bible Grove, MO, where she also attended church.
  She accepted Jesus as her Savior in her early teens and was steadfast in her faith all her life, transferring her church membership to the Memphis Christian Church after moving to Memphis. She was a resident of the assisted living Residential Terrace for the last eight years of her life and enjoyed her privacy and the activities that she participated in there.
  She married Harry Shultz on May 17, 1941. They were the parents of four children: John and Janice Shultz and Cindy and Kathleen Cook.
  Besides being a homemaker, Aldra taught school and served as a substitute teacher in the Bible Grove school district. She also worked at the Grim Smith Hospital in Kirksville, MO, for four years in the dietary department.
  Aldra was a person with a pleasant personality. She was always ready to be of help to others before her health failed.
  Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband on April 1, 1983; her two sisters, Lila Dennison and Zerita Meeks; and two brothers, Floyd Wright and Wayne Wright.
  She is survived by her children, John Shultz and wife Rhonda of Ottumwa, IA, Janice and husband Phil Borron of Cottonwood, AZ, Cindy and husband Harold Bailey of Hannibal, MO, and Kathleen Cook of Fairfield, IA; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Emel and husband Elton of Memphis, MO, and Muriel Blaine and husband Millard of Baring, MO; a brother, Andrew Wright of Baring, MO; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
  Funeral services were held on May 30, 2005, in the Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis, MO, with Brother Jack Sumption officiating. Reese Blaine, Mike Blaine, Myron Blaine, Ethan Wright, Danny Emel and Randy Emel served as pallbearers. Interment was in the Greensburg Cemetery, Greensburg, MO.
  Memorials are suggested to the charity or organization of the donor's choice and may be left at or mailed to Gerth Funeral Service, 115 S. Main, Memphis, MO 63555.
       
Aldra married Harry SCHULTZ on 17 May 1941. Harry died on 1 Apr 1983.

  Mr. Stone was reared in the Bible Grove community and graduated from the Baring High School. He was engaged in farming and had farmed east of Edina before moving to their present farm southwest of Edina in 1951.
  He had served on the FmHA board for several years. He was a member of the Edina Assembly of God Church and had served on the building committee.
  Funeral services were held Monday, May 16, 1988, 1:30 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel, Edina, MO., with Rev. Ronald Garner officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Debbie Peters singing "My Ivory Palace Home" and "I Won't Have to Worry Anymore". Organist was Ed Anderson. Casket bearers were Delbert Hawkins, Clarence Baker, Harry P. Oldfather, Leroy Anderson, Tom Hamlin, and Arthur Douglass, Jr. Burial was in Park View Memorial Gardens, Kirksville.

  She was born October 13, 1925, at Greensburg, MO, to Simeon E. and Alpha Louise Roberts Stone.
  She was raised in the Greensburg area and was a graduate of the Bible Grove High School Class of 1943.
  She married Dale Barker on June 15, 1944 at San Diego, CA.
  She was a member of the Bible Grove Christian Church. She was a member of the Business and Professional Association and was an officer. She helped organize the Scotland County Courthouse Avenue of Flags. She was a floral designer the past 40 years and the past ten years was employed by The Flower Garden in Memphis, MO.
  Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Beverly Kay Epperson and husband, Kenneth of Milton, IA; a son, Stanley D. Barker and wife, Nancy of Canyon City, CO. Also surviving are one sister, Kathryn Davis of Bible Grove, MO; a brother, Darrel J.   Loris Dale Barker, 81, of Bible Grove, Missouri, died November 5, 2005 at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.
  He was born November 16, 1923 at Bible Grove, Missouri to John William and Eva Myrtle Palmer Barker. He was a graduate of Bible Grove High School with the class of 1942. He served in the United States Navy during WWII from January 6, 1944 to December 30, 1945.
  He married Eileen Stone on June 15, 1944 at San Diego, California. To this union two children were born; one son, Stanley and a daughter, Beverly Kay.
  Dale was a farmer in the Bible Grove area and retired in 1985. He enjoyed coon hunting and working with horses and mules. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching ballgames and all sports activities. He was a member of the Bible Grove First Christian Church and a 50-year member of the Wallace W. Gillespie Post #4958 of the VFW.
  He is survived by his son, Stanley D. Barker, of Canon City, Colorado and his daughter, Beverly Kay Epperson and husband Ken of Milton, Iowa, four grandchildren: Stacey Jo Young and husband Steve of El Paso, Illinois; Aimee Lynn Sullivan and husband Anthony of Canon City, Colorado; Kelby Epperson of Ottumwa, Iowa and Macy Epperson of Milton, Iowa; two step-grandchildren: Jennifer Young and Laura Young of El Paso, Illinois and four great-grandchildren: Matthew Young, Ashley Young, Austin Young and Cole Sullivan. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen, his parents and one brother, Gale Barker.
  Funeral services will be held at the Memphis Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 1:30 P.M. with Brother Larry Smith officiating. Organist will be Ann Luther and Alisa Kigar will be the soloist.
  Burial will follow the service in the Bible Grove Christian Church Cemetery in Bible Grove, Missouri with full military honors by the Wallace W. Gillespie Post #4958 of the VFW of Memphis. Otha P. Adams, 81, of Keokuk, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at the Keokuk Area Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 15, 1920, in Weston, Mo., the son of Mark Oregon and Jane Watts Adams. He married Lucy Pruett Pawson on May 7, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. She preceded him in death on March 5, 1995.
Survivors include: a sister, Frances Miller of Lebanon, Ill.; three stepdaughters, Doris "Dorie" Tessen and her husband, Ken, of Norfolk, Va., Patricia VanVerst of Weatherford, Texas and Janette Miller and her husband, Allen, of Keokuk; a foster son, Dan Brocksmith and his wife, Connie, of Graham, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and three nieces and three nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Nick, Harold, Lewis and Charles Adams.
He worked at the Powderworks in Powdertown, Sinton Transfer, Midwest Carbide and Dryden's all of Keokuk before moving to California.
In California, he worked as a cargo agent for Trans World Airlines in Los Angeles for 30 years before his retirement in 1983. In 1984, he returned to Keokuk.
He was a member of the Civil Conservation Corporation from 1937-1938 where he planted trees at Shimek Forest and did construction in Keosauqua Lacey State Park. He was also a member of the International Association of Machinists and The First Christian Church in Keokuk.
Mr. Adams enjoyed woodworking, going on drives and eating out.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, with the Revs. Bill Mitchell and Jim Davidson officiating.
Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
Visitation is after 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Keokuk.

obert Otis Redding, 79, of Fairmont, MO, died October 16, 2003, at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO, where he had been a resident the past six weeks.
He was born September 26, 1924, in Downing, MO, a son of Richard Thomas and Allie Myrtle Allen Redding.
On December 25, 1943, he was united in marriage to Leola Maxine Pruett at Memphis, MO.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine of the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka, MO; seven sons, Keith Redding and his wife, Susan of Kahoka, MO, David Redding and his wife, Sandra of Wyaconda, MO, William Redding and his wife, Rae Joanne of Moville, IA, John Redding and his wife, Linda of Wyaconda, MO, Jerry Redding and his wife, Julia of Kahoka, MO, Samuel Redding and his wife, Teri of Kahoka, MO, and Timothy Redding and his wife, Kay of Carlinville, IL; five daughters, Kay Redding of Jefferson City, MO, Deborah Malone and her husband, Pat of Kahoka, MO, Rebecca Moore and her husband, Harold of Columbia, MO, Elizabeth Bird of Fort Madison, IA, and Martha Ellefritz and her husband, Randy of Keokuk, IA; three sisters, Helen Riley, Wilma Smoot, and Maxine Atkinson, all of Downing, MO; a brother-in-law, Albert Pruett of Rochester, MN; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; and a brother, Leonard.

Robert was a World War II Army Veteran serving from 1944 until 1946 and was a member of the Wyaconda Baptist Church. He had been trained as a welder through the GI Bill and was self-employed throughout his life as a logger-mechanic and was renowned for his welding skills. He was often heard to say that he could "weld anything but a broken heart or the break of day". In the latter part of his life, he owned and operated an auto repair shop in Fairmont with his son, John. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman.

Funeral services were held October 19, 2003, at Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO, with Rev. Ernest Deatrick officiating. Special music was provided by Mathew Eder, soloist, accompanied by Kathy Wilson and congregational singing. Honorary pallbearers were Dave Redding, Kevin Redding, Marty Redding, Ian Bird, Dalton Bird and Ryan Moore. Pallbearers were Jared Malone, Joe Redding, Erik Moore, Tom Redding, Jeremy McDaniel, and Jim Marsh. Burial with full military rites was in Fairmont Cemetery by Missouri Military Honors, Herman Blum Post #192 of the American Legion, and Ayer-Boatman Post #4342, V.F.W. Memorials were suggested to the American Lung Association or to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were handled by Wilson Funeral Home in Kahoka, MO.
