WOLFE CITY - Jewel Morgan, 83, of Fort Worth died Friday at Harris Methodist Southwest in Fort Worth. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Owens Funeral Chapel. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 6, 1915 in Anson, the daughter of James Washington Owens and Ella Perry. She married Henry Jackson Morgan on Nov. 6, 1937 in Dickens. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist church in Haskell.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Nelda Ruth Tyler of Levelland and Mary Alice Bruckner of Plano; one son, James Robert Morgan of Fort Worth; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Born Dec. 14, 1934 in Stamford, Texas, he was a resident of Weatherford for many years. Clinton was retired from the U.S. Air Force, an aircraft and missile mechanic. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. Clinton was an avid Cowboys fan and loved gardening.
Clinton was preceded in death by his first wife, and the mother of his two children; Lilagene Lain Morgan.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Johnnie Morgan, of Weatherford; daughter, Jen-Ai Lee Morgan of Fort Worth; son, Landan Kyle Morgan of Waco; grandson Clinton Kyle Morgan and wife, Savanah Morris Morgan, of Fort Worth; three step daughters, Pam Rhoten and husband, Mike, of Weatherford, Sandy Seaberry and husband, Glenn, of Carrollton; Debbie Richardson of Irving; their five children and three grandchildren.
Marron married Lilagene "Gene" SCHAFFNER-LAIN [scrapbook] on 5 Aug 1956. Lilagene was born on 25 Feb 1936 in Henrietta, Clay, Texas, United States. She died on 12 May 1975.

Lilagene Schaffner Lain Morgan was the only child, born February 25, 1936 in Heniretta, Texas, was the only child born to Margaret Schaffner Lain.
Lilagene was named after her mother's best friend Lila, and her father Eugene, who was known as Gene. She was raised with the help of her beloved Grandma Schaffner and her Uncle Tony, and her large extended family of aunts and uncles who resided in Clay County Texas. She grew up in Henrietta and later, in Green Forrest Arkansas. She moved to Weatherford TX, after gradution from Green Forrest High School, to attend Weatherford Junior College. While attending college, she resided with her paternal aunt and uncle, Mary Jo and Tony Prest, owners of Tony's Grocery Store.
Lilagene met Marron Clinton Morgan in May of 1956 inside Tony's Grocery Store. Three short months later they were wed. Clinton reinlisted in the USAF because he now had a bride and wanted to provide security for their future. They both moved to Tyndall Air Force Base near Panama City Florida, shorty after their wedding.
Ten and a half months later, their young family started to grow when they welcomed their first child, Landan Kyle Morgan, into the world. A little over two years later, in November of 1959, she gave birth to their daughter, Jen-Ai Lee Morgan. While both her children were still toddlers, she attended and graduated from Cosmotology school, and began her career as a hair stylist.
Her husbands career in the Air Force took the young family to California in early 1965, where she continued her career in cosmotology. She often competed in her field and won various honors, including the Miss Clarol 1970 State Championship. When Clinton retired from the military in 1972, they moved back to Weatherford to be near his family.
Lilagene had the heart of an artist. Cosmotology, painting and ceramics were her forms of expression. Just before she suddenly and unexpectedly passed away, she opened up her own Beauty Shop on the northwest side of the square in Weatherford. In addition to being a small business owner, she was a Pythian Sister and an active member of First Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School.
Lilagene had one grandchild, Clinton Kyle Morgan, who never had the honor of knowing his Grandmother.
Lilagene Morgan was a woman of virtue who's life emulated Proverbs 31,10-31.
