Stice and Angie, Frank moved to California with his family during the Great Depression. He joined the Army in 1948 becoming a mortar instructor and First SGT. Serving with the 5th Regimental Combat Team, he fought at Outpost Harry, Korea in the late spring of 1953 earning the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He later transferred to the Air Force. Serving around the globe, he met his loving wife Lillian while serving in Goosebay, Labrador, Canada in 1966. He retired from military service in 1968. Frank was affectionately called Buster by his loved ones, and passed in his sleep on Jan. 4, 2010 after a long illness. Frank is survived by his wife Lillian, sons Frank, Howard, and Anthony, daughters Annette, Sharon, Karen, and Wanda. He is also survived by his brothers Richard, Billy Joe, Donny, and sisters Wanda, Kay, Donna, Patty, 17 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents and Brother Walter. Frank will be interred at Lakewood Memorial Park in the Honor Garden on Jan 11, 2010 at 1:30PM.

He worked for Labette County as a bridge supervisor for 20 years and for the Kansas Department of Transportation for 24 years.    He married Mildred Allison on Aug. 25, 1949, in Oswego. She survives of the home.    Other survivors include three daughters, Roberta Mayfield of Chetopa, Janis Woods of Owasso, Okla., and Alexis Lawson and her husband, David, of Oswego; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Darrell and Larry of Lawrence, Wayne of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Norman of Parsons; and a sister, Wilma Allison of Altamont.    He was preceded in death by a sister, a great-grandson and a son-in-law.    The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Murdock Funeral Home in Oswego with the Revs. Don and Alyce Ann Tallman officiating. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m.    Memorials may be made to Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
