Full Text:
   William J. Stice died Saturday afternoon at 3:30 in the home of his
daughter, Mrs. R.L. Jackson, 1107 South Eighteenth Street. Death was the result
of a paralytic stroke Christmas night. It was the fifth stroke he had had in
twenty-five years. He was born in Bible Grove, Mo., in Scotland County, on July
23, 1856, and had lived there until a year ago when he moved to Quincy. He was a
farmer all his life.
   Mr. Stice is survived by his widow, six sons, John and Artie Stice of
Quincy, J.D., P.A., Sanford and Theodore Stice all of Lewistown, Mo four
daughters, Mrs. R.L. Jackson, Mrs. Louis Brumbaugh, Lewistown, Mo. Mrs. Rosetta
Hendrickson, Decatur; Mrs. Nancy Houghman, Marion, Ia; two brothers Thomas
Stice, Keokuk, and Dave Stice, Memphis; three sisters Mrs. Jane Stough,
Rutledge, Mo; Mrs. Susan McCoy; Memphis, Mo; and Mrs. Martha Tremain, Kansas
City, Mo; several grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. & Mrs. Stice
were married fifty-six years on May 3, this year.
   The body will be taken to Lewistown; Mo where funeral services will be held
Monday afternoon.

at Keokuk, Saturday.  Mrs. Susanna McCoy Finley lived in Memphis several years.
Mrs. Susanna McCoy Finley, 89, a farmer resident of Memphis, and a resident of
Keokuk for the past eyar and a half died at 2:30 o'clock Saturday morn at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Lillie Stice, 103 Belknap Road, Keokuk.  Mrs. Finley
went to Keokuk to make her home with her daughter because of failing health,
that finally resulted in her death. She was born at Bible Grove, Mo. Sept 9,
1856, and was a member of the Christian Church at Memphis.  Surviving are 5
sons, Alfread Blaine, Montrose, Virgil Blaine, Bible Grove, Logan McCoy,
Memphis, Senior McCoy, Granger, Lauren McCoy, Chicago, 2 daughters Mrs. Cora
Paris, Memphis, and Mrs. Stice.  Several grand; great grand, and great great
grand children.  Funeral services were held in Keokuk at 2 O'clock Monday
Afternoon.

  4. Obituary "The Memphis Reveille" Thursday 28 Sep 1922.  Full text: Daniel
Stice was born Dec. 4, 1865 and died Sept. 22, 1922 at age 56 years, 9 months,
18 days.  Married Jan. 12, 1887 to Ida May Trimain.  Nine children were born to
them, all living but one, Mrs. Sina Freshwater.  Those living are Minnie
Jennings, Leslie Elbert, Johnnie, Nina, Ohlen, Silas, and Eldon, all of near
Bible Grove.  He united with the Christian (Church) church at Bible Grove Sept.
10, 1922.  Beside the wife and children, he is survived by 8 grandchildren, 3
sisters and 3 brothers.  Interment was in the Bible Grove Cemetery.

  4. Obituary, "The Scotland County Democrat" Thursday 4 Feb 1904 (the same
date his mother's obiturary appeared).  Full text: Graut Stice. At his home near
Bible Grove Tuesday at 4 o'clock A.M. occurred the death of Graut Stice.  Mr.
Stice lived in Scotland county all his life, and was 36 years old at the time of
his death.  He had been a sufferer of Lung Trouble for several months.  He
leaves a wife and 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls.  Funeral services will
probably be conducted today and interment made at Bible Grove cemetery.  Mr.
Stice was a sone of Mrs. Nancy Stice who died last Sunday.  In the same
newspaper, one week later, Feb 11, 1904: The funeral service for Graut Stice was
held from the New Church Wednesday.
