great-grandfather Donald Smith,
who was born at Giol on the Oa in
1833 (baptismal record in OSP) and
died in Duntroon, Ontario in 1914.
The portrait includes his wife Flora Blair, born in Canada but whose
parents are believed to have come from Islay.
