| Clara found in the 1861 census, and also the 1871 census by which time she is being called Annie. Later found in the 1881 census under her married name of Bates. Clara married Robert George Bates, a photographer and was living in the family home at 73 Aldred Rd Newington, with children - Sophia 5, Robert George 4 and Annie 2. Lodgers at the same address are Henry Groves, age 60, and Samuel Groves age 50, William Willis age 50 and his wife Julia Willis age 42. Check 1891. | ||||||||||||
