RICHWOOD Thomas P. Waterwash, 85, of Richwood, and formerly of West Salem, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005, at Heartland of Marysville.

Services will be Monday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m. at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with Pastor Marta Mathatas officiating. Burial will be at West Salem Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the James Stevenson American Legion Post 499 of West Salem.

Friends may call Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

He was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Euclid to Angelo and Margaret (Gitanio) Waterwash.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He retired from the City of Cleveland, where he was a policeman. He moved to West Salem in July of 1973 from Euclid.

He was a member of Homerville United Methodist Church, James Stevenson American Legion Post 499 of West Salem and Fraternal Order of Police of Cleveland.

Surviving are four children, Donna Surtz of Lawrenceville, N.J., Rita (Fritz) Fryer of Houston, Texas, Ronald (Darla) Waterwash of Powell and Robin (Dean) Harpster of Jeromesville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sam Waters and Louis Waterwash, both of Euclid, and three sisters, Annette Waters of Cleveland, Angie Waters of Cincinnati and Chris Wetzel of Richmond Heights.

His wife, Virginia Waterwash died Jan. 18, 1991 and his parents and a sister, Rosella Griffith, also died previously.

Services for Thomas P. Waterwash, 85, of Richwood, were Monday.

Pallbearers were Tommy and Jimmy Waterwash, Dan Surtz, Dean, David and Dan Harpster and Tim Buren.
