BURBANK Ross L. Kollert, 84, of Burbank, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at the Hospice Care Center in Copley, following a one year illness.

Services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston.

Burial will be in Burbank Cemetery.

Friends may call one hour prior to services on Monday, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care Center, 3340 Ridgewood Drive, Akron 44333.

He was born Feb. 5, 1922, in West Salem to Frederick and Minnie Belle (Aukerman) Kollert.

He graduated from Congress High in 1941, and served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre.

He had worked on the B.&O. Railroad and retired from the General Motors Chevy Plant in Brook Park following 30 years service.

He served on the Burbank Fire Department.

He had made his home in the Burbank area most of his life.

Surviving are three sisters, Lydia Lance of Ashland, Marie Easterday of Creston, and Marjorie Shaffer of Wadsworth; a brother, Carl Kollert of Richfield; and nieces and nephews.

Three brothers, Ora, George and Lewis and a sister, Hazel, died previously.
