WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - Marvin U. “Parky” Park, 81, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Burbank, died Tuesday morning, March 9, 2004, at his home.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Creston, with Linda Grier officiating. Burial will be at Burbank Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted.

Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be held 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arnieson Ave., Auburndale, Fla. 33823.

He was born April 20, 1922, in Burbank to Thomas Conrad and Nellie Mae (Baker) Park and married Peggy Jean Stanley. She died June 15, 1975. On Jan. 15, 1990, he married Imogene “Naomi” Ferris in Angleton, Texas. She survives.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 720th Railway Operating Battalion, and had worked at Ohio Injector in Akron. In 1984, he retired from Columbia Gas Transmissions after 39 years of service.

He was a member of Harrisville Masonic Lodge 137 and American Legion Post 523, both in Lodi, Royal Arch Masons Oriental Chapter 128 and Eagles Aerie Lodge 2117 in Wadsworth.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Tammy Atwood of Orrville, Rhonda (Dave) Richards of Wadsworth, Betty (Charles) Edwards of Burbank, Doug Ferris of Wooster, Deanna Lozier of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Darlene (John) Stanfield of Winter Haven, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Melva Gallion of Creston; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his first wife, a sister, Viva Harrell, died previously.
