BURBANK - Marion J. Boreman, 88, of Burbank, died Monday, May 16, 2005, at his home.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem, with Pastor Christopher Cottrel officiating. Burial will be at Congress Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the James Stevenson American Legion Post 499 of West Salem.

Friends may call Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Road, Wooster 44691.

He was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Shreve to Myron and Elva (Mark) Boreman and married Josephine Battig on July 22, 1937. She survives.

He had served his country in the U.S. Army during the Japanese Theater of War, under Douglas McArthur in the Pacific during World War II, and was a carpenter for Bogner & Sons and Freeman Construction, both of Wooster.

He was also engaged in farming and his hobby was his Appaloosa horses. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Congress Community Church.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 67 years, are children, Patricia (Tom) Ogden of Wooster, Roger (Rose) Boreman and Steven Boreman, both of West Salem; nine grandchildren; a step-grandchild; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Boreman of Burbank.

His parents, a brother, Wayne Boreman, and a sister, Hazel Bletz, died previously.
