WEST SALEM -- James E. Dick, 71, of West Salem, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, Feb. 28, at noon at Congress Community Church, with Pastor Christopher Cottrel officiating. Private family burial will be in Congress Cemetery.

Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem is handling arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Congress Community Church, 10691 Franchester Road, West Salem 44287, or Northwestern Ruritan Club, in care of James Miley, 7234 Bates Road, West Salem 44287.

James was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Cuyahoga Falls, to Ernest and Belle (Fuller) Dick.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He retired in 1995, from East Ohio Gas Co. in Cleveland, where he was a division manager of gas measurement.

He was a member of Congress Community Church and the Northwestern Ruritan Club.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy (Duer) Dick, whom he married Aug. 8, 1957; two children, John (Robin) Dyckson of Wadsworth and Mary Kay (Ed) Banville of Bremen; four grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Schlaeppi of Cuyahoga Falls and Dorothy Clark of Cuyahoga Falls; a brother, David Dick of Lyonsville, Pa., and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
