CANTON Arlyne C. Esselburn, 91, of Canton, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, at St. Luke Lutheran Home.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m. at Karlo-Feucht Funeral Home, 5000 Everhard Road NW, Canton with the Rev. Edwin A. Spangler officiating. Burial will be in West Salem Cemetery.

Friends may call Saturday, Feb. 5, from 10:30-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Stark County, 3611 Whipple Ave. NW, Canton 44718; or St. Luke Lutheran Home, 220 Applegrove St. NE, North Canton 44720.

He was born Dec. 13, 1913, in West Salem to the late Chester E. and Mabel E. (Swope) Esselburn.

He was a graduate of Cleveland Bible College, a pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, and retired from Malone College.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He was a member of Greentown Church of the Nazarene.

Surviving are his wife, Maude (Swartz) Esselburn; daughter-in-law, Miriam Esselburn-Henry of Coshocton; daughters and son-in-law, Rosalie and Lee Hoffman of Lake Toxoway, N.C., and Mary Grovemiller of Canton; son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Gwen Esselburn of Spartenburg, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Arlyne A.C. "Bud" in 1990.
