Jane Wile has been researching the local family names of her home county of Colchester, Nova Scotia for over 20 years. The most of these families came to her area from Ireland, Scotland and New England beginning in the early 1760's to take up lands in the three major townships of Londonderry, Onslow and Truro that later became Colchester County. She has a sizable database of over 61,000+ names from which she produces genealogy books on many of the larger families. These books are updated yearly, giving descendants the chance to add their family information to her database and be included in the next updates.

All books are 8 1/2 x 11, stock covered with ring bindings. All names indexed; contents include vital statistics, Wills, newspaper articles, recorded family events etc.

Mrs. Ramsey grew up in Oklahoma, and was a career secretary until 1985. She and her husband Vance have two sons. Listings include the Scottish Reformation, a Gaelic word list, Kings, kidnappings, and chronologies. Compilations from many sources include military engagements, colonial congregations, and traces the migration trails of hundreds of Scottish families to America. It contains thousands of names, usually with dates and places, as well as much information about the Religious, social and family conditions of the times. It covers the years 1640 to 1689 in Scotland and from the early 18th century through the 19th century in America.

A HISTORY OF THE JARNAGIN FAMILY IN IOWA (1856-1996)

P99
The Jarnagin family has been in Iowa for over 140 years. Most of the family found there are descendants of John Jarnagin and Mary Smith. John was born about 1748 in Virginia. He was a landowner in Henry County, Virginia, in 1777. By 1790 he relocated to what is now Grainger County, Tennessee. He moved with his family one final time - to Highland County, Ohio. He died there in 1816. Over 1,300 descendants of John Jarnagin and Mary Smith are included in this history of the family, representing descendants of four of their nine children - Nancy who married Jacob COOPER (240 descendants included), Mary (Polly) who married Jacob WEYER (11 descendants included), Isaac who married Sarah GROVE (750 descendants included), and Eli who married Mary FRANKLIN (328 descendants included). Today their descendants can be found throughout the United States and in at least two foreign countries.

Description of book: My ancestor Johann Jacob "Jake" Weischedel was born in 1828 in Feuerbach, now a suburb of Stuttgart, and came to Iowa in 1854. His wife Margaretha Bettschnitt was born in 1832 in the Nurnberg area and came to Iowa in 1855. They were married in Dubuque Co, Iowa in 1856. In 1857 they bought land in Sperry Twp, Clayton Co, Iowa and lived near Volga and Strawberry Point and worshipped at the St.Siebald (protestant) Church in Strawberry Point. BREHE AND TOEDT FAMILIES FROM LIPPE-DETMOLD, GERMANY 1675 to 1997

a Genealogy by Zelda Zeuge Dubel

Allied names: Mini-genealogies of pedigree ancestors, Bodekers, Busse, Coring, Gerken, Huppen, Jurgens, Ludolph, Schnittger (Schnitker) and Twete.

Description of book: I had ancestors named Toedt(mann) who lived in Holzhausen-Externsteine and worshipped at the Evangelical Reformed (protestant) church at Horn. Archives are in nearby Detmold. My ancestor Johann Toedt (1800-1873) married Sophia Schaefer who was the widow of Johann Christoph Brehe. In accordance with the custom of that time and location, he changed his name to Conrad Brehe. They emigrated to Franklin Co, MO about 1847. By coincidence, another Conrad E. Brehe emigrated to Gasconade Co, MO about 1843 and he was probably related to Sophia's first husband. Other relatives who retained the surname Toedt came to Illinois and Iowa. The book covers the genealogy of all these branches as known to me to the present time. Information came from the church record books in Horn and the archives in Detmold. There are 2365 names and 288 pages. The author spent 32 years in research.

Published 1997.
Indexed, Illustrated: 65 photographs.
Cloth bound.
Price: $51.00 each, postpaid in USA.
