Coles Co, Illinois. v. James Tremble, born 1832 in Illinois; died Aft. 1895 in California?; married Vestie Davis 21 Jan 1869 in Coles Co, Illinois. [James Tremble may be the son of Hiram and Sarah] Children of Hiram Tremble and Sarah Sawyer are: i. Samuel Sawyer Tremble, born in Coles Co, IL; died in Coles Co, IL. Cemetery inscription shows Samuel Sawyer Tremble, son of HM and S, born 1817; died 1818. However, HM was only 8 or 9 years old at that time and Sarah was 3 so the date is obviously wrong. It could have been 1837 and 1838. ii. David Tremble, born 1833 in Paradise, Coles Co, IL; died 23 Feb 1909 in Mattoon, Coles Co, IL; married (1) Lucinda E. Hunt 31 Aug 1864 in Coles Co, IL; married (2) Ella C. Roach 05 Apr 1877 in Coles Co, IL. David Tremble built a cabin East of the John Sawyer cabin in Paradise, Coles County, Illinois. He served in the Civil War as a Capt. in the Army, Co. K, 62nd Illinois Infantry. David was listed with his parents Hiram and Sarah Tremble in the 1870 Federal Census, possibly because his wife died 2 months earlier. It appears he had a child named Minnie, age 4. iii. Eliza Tremble, born 1838 in Coles Co, IL; died 24 Jan 1922 in California; married Oliver P. Harris 26 Sep 1857 in Coles Co, IL. This family migrated to California. iv. Elisha J. Tremble, born 1841 in Coles Co, IL; died Abt. 1878. v. Hiram S. Tremble, born 10 Dec 1842 in Coles Co, IL; died 24 Jan 1903 in Ft. Wrangel, Alaska; married Eliza Hauffman 1880 in Rico, Colorado. vi.
