This page is to provide a forum for discussion -- a place to ask questions, get answers to those questions, resolve issues, or even to perhaps provide a previously unknown link to new cousins or new generations.

The page will evolve as discussion begins.

  • Who was the wife of DANIEL TRIMBLE? Rachel Smith or Nancy Smith? Or are they the same person?

.... Several researchers have asked the same question.

  • Indiana marriage records indicate that Daniel Trimble married a Sally Henson in 1814. Was this the same person named in his estate papers as Sarah Trimble?

.... Sally and Sarah were interchangeable names during pioneer times, so it's possible that Sally Henson was the Sarah named in Daniel's estate.

  • In the photo of Charles and Martha Ellen Tremble, there is a portrait in the background. Is that Charles' father HIRAM TREMBLE?

.... An individual portrait was taken of Hiram, as well as other Coles County pioneers, for exhibition in 1876 at the Coles County Fair Grounds by a local photographer. The whereabouts of that portrait are unknown. It is likely that it was passed on to one of Hiram's children and could very logically have been taken to California when the family migrated and then have been hung in the home of Charles and Martha Ellen Tremble.
