Obituary from New River Notes, 1910 Ashe Baptist Association Minutes, Ashe County, North Carolina, dated about 1909:
Sister Rebecca Wallace was born July the 7, 1827, departed this life September the 25, 1909, aged 82 years, 2 months, 18 days. She was a daughter of James and Rachel Testerman, she was married to Reuben Wallace, April the 22, 1852, unto them were born nine sons and one daughter. She attached herself to Forest Home Baptist church about the year 1875, was baptized by Rev. W. C. Parks, and lived a consistent member of the same until her death. She was resigned and willing to go, she called her children and friends to her bed side and told them she did not want them to grieve after her, she was going to rest. "In faith we view her resting place, and look for that sweet bye and bye, when God Himself in wondrous grace, shall remit her broken tie.
