Deck Stewart Jr.
Deck Stewart Jr., 78, of Cullowhee, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2005, at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital.
A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Deck and Edith Amy Stewart. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mack Stewart, and a grandson, Joshua Boyer.
He worked in construction and was a member of Yellow Mountain Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Willa Mae Stewart; a daughter, Cynthia Heaps; a son, David Stewart; and six grandchildren, Aimee, Dixie, Kyle, Kent, Loren and Bobby.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 29, at 3:30 p.m., at Yellow Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Ashe officiating.
Burial will be in the Stewart Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Ingram Jr., Jimmy Ingram, Jeff Stewart, Jeremy Stewart, Marvin Bumgarner Jr. and Michael Bumgarner.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., at the church, one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stewart Cemetery Fund, c/o Carl Stewart, Yellow Mountain, Cullowhee, NC 28723.
