ON 22 Mar 1769, he purchased 320 acres on the third fork of Lyles Creek in what was then Rowan County, North Carolina. He acquired another 400 acres on Mulls Fork, a branch of Elk Creek, 28 Nov 1782.

In 1767 he came from Pennsylvania to North Carolina and in the same year bought 200 acres of land from Nichlos Frey on Clarks Creek in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. This land is now Catawba County, North Carolina near the town of Newton. Sons Bernard and John were administrators of his estate.

In 1767 Christopher Sigman came from Pennsylvania to North Carolina and in the same year bought 200 acres of land from Nichlas Frey on Clarks Creek in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
