- This Setzer family is of German origin and came to America on Ship Brothers, with Capt. Willim Muir, from Rotterdam. George Tobias Setzer landed at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania., September 14, 1751. Michael Setzer and Jacob Setzer, age 21, were on Ship Brothers and landed in America, September 26, 1753. Reference for this is Penn German Pioneers by Strassburger and Hinke, Vol. 1, pages 551, 553, and 554 and also Rupps Thirty Thousand Immigrant page 312.
