C. G. Robinson Rites Held Tues.
Funeral service for Cyrus Grady Robinson, 78, of Salisbury, formerly of Clifton, who passed away at his home Sunday morning, was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Clifton United Methodist Church with Rev. Benny Clodfelter officiating. Interment followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Robinson was born in Ashe County, November 15, 1896 to Martin and Nealie Wilcox Robinson. He was a retired school teacher and farmer.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. Bill Whitley and Mrs. Paul Whitley, both of Salisbury; 6 sons, Denver Robinson of Raleigh, Jack Robinson of Brandywine, Md., Joe Robinson of Warrensville, Dean Robinson of Falls Church, Va., Bob Robinson of Metuchen, N.J., Charles Grady Robinson, Jr. of Washington, D.C.; 1 brother W.R. Robinson of West Jefferson; 27 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren also survive. Parents: Martin Sherman ROBINSON and Nella Ann WILCOX.

Sanders Ely Robinson, 87, Ashe County, North Carolina died yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Postel, 3011 East Seventy-seventh. He arrived here a week ago for a visit.
Also surviving are three other daughters, Mrs. Lavada Ley, Clay City, Ind.; Mrs. Pansy Collins, Council Bluffs, Ia.; and Miss Anna May Robinson, Summit, N.C.; and six sons Rom Robinson, Campo, Colo.; Ross Robinson, Cle Camp, Mo.; Earl Robinson, Henrietta, Mo.; Dwight Robinson, San Francisco, and Lawrence Robinson and Fred Robinson, Summit.

- Separated from Ada Jane Roten before child Roby was born. Family tradition has it that Ada Jane and Eli were opposites and therefore did not stay together. On the day Roby was born, Jacob Roten went to town and had Roby "bound" to him. This was the same as adoption. Roby used the surname Roten throughout his life.

- San and wife Clara moved to Missouri about 1907. After a few years, San returned to North Carolina leaving Clara and several children in the west. They were divorced about 1916. Sanderson was at one time a very respected Methodist minister and could have been a bishop but one thing kept him from a high position in the church--he had two living wives. In the early days divorce was not approved of for church officials. He also taught school in North Carolina and Virginia. In 1889 he taught school at Rock Creek a full term for the small sum of $85.00. He ruled his students with an iron hand, but the method must have been effective as he was considered a very good teacher. Parents: Martin Taswell "Taz" ROBINSON and Martha Caroline GRAY.

Doyle Robinson Funeral Was Held Tues. Morning
Had Served as ASCS Committeeman For Many Years
Funeral service for Franklin Doyle Robinson 43, of Warrensville, Clifton community, who passed away Saturday night at his home, was held December 15, at 11:00 a.m. in the Clifton United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Kale and Rev. D.H. Lutz officiating. Burial followed in the Ashe County, North Carolina - Ashe Lawn Memorial Gardens.
He was born in Ashe County to Grady and Edna Barr Robinson on December 19, 1926. He was a farmer, merchant, county commissioner and a member of the Clifton United Methodist Church.
In October, 1957 he was elected as a member of the ASCS community committee, and in 1958 he was elected to the county committee, a place he held ever since that time.
He was elected Ashe County commissioner in the Nov. election and was sworn in on Monday, Dec. 7.
Surviving are his wife, Irene Hartsoe Robinson; two daughters, Mrs. Rex Doughtery of Dumfries, Va., Mrs Susan Hoosier of Warrensville; one son, Chris Robinson of the home; father, six brothers, Denver, Raleigh and Joe of Warrensville, Jack of Brandy Wine, Va., Robert of Mutchen, N.J., Dean of Falls Church, Va., and C.G. Jr. of Washington, D.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Madeline Whitley and Mrs Loraine Whitley, both of Salisbury. Parents: Cyrus Grady ROBINSON and Edna BARR.
