- John Redmond established his home in the Holly Springs section of Macon County, N. C., after his marriage to Elizabeth Peek. He owned a large farm and was one of the trustees who helped establish Holly Springs Academy, where his children received schooling. He was considered a well-to-do man of his day. All his girls had their own saddle horses and side saddles and wore silk dresses. Parents: Stephen REDMOND and Susannah STEWART.
