Funeral Held for T. P. Moses
Thomas Pierce Moses, aged 80, died at 2 o'clock last Thursday morning at his home on Ellijay, where he was born and had spent his entire life.


The funeral was conducted Friday morning at the Sugar Fork Baptist church by the pastor, the Rev. A.S. Solesbee.
Mr. Moses was a farmer all his life. At the age of 27 he married Miss Charlotte Owen, of Transylvania county, a sister of the Rev. J.R. Owen, pastor the the French Broad church of Asheville. To this union were born 11 children, nine of whom are still living.
Three sons, P.R. Moses, L.J. Moses and L.T. Moses live at or near the old home. P.L. Moses, after graduating from North Carolina State college, Raleigh, about the close of the world war, went to California, where he had been teaching in the public schools. Ansel Moses, youngest of the children, is in the U.S. Navy aboard the cruiser Detroit stationed on the Pacific coast. Three daughters, Mrs. Julia Osborne, Mrs. Jeanette Daley and Mrs. Hester Bruschi, live in San Diego, Calif.. Another daughter, Mrs. Kay Hulme, lives in Atlanta, Ga. Mrs Hulme, accompanied by her two daughters, attended the funeral; but the other children lived at such a distance that they were unable to be present. Parents: David MOSES and Jennet UNKNOWN.

William H. Moses

Mr. William H. Moses, 51, of Highlands, formerly of Walnut Creek, died at Angel Brothers hospital on Friday, April 15, at 2 o'clock, after a serious operation. Funeral services were held at the Walnut Creek Baptist church at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon with the Rev. W.T. Potts of Highlands and J.M. Keener, of Gneiss, with the J.O.U.A.M. having charge of the services.
The deceased is survived by his widow, who before marriage was Miss Fannie Moses, and the following children; Clyde, Claude, Howard and Willie of Highlands, Pete and Arthur of Gneiss and Mrs. Marshall Towery of Whitestone, Ga.. Parents: Anson Burgen MOSES and Mary Jane GREGORY.

Mr. Moses
Willie Mitchel Moses, 89, of Franklin, died Tuesday, May 23, at his residence. He was a native of Jackson County, and lived in Macon County most of his life.
He was the son of the late W.A. "Will" and Fannie Keener Moses. He had owned and operated Moses Grocery, and also worked for the N.C. State Department of Transportation. He was a WW II veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the Pine Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Pearl Elizabeth Woods Moses; four daughters, Peggy Carpenter, Wilene Stanfield, Claudette McCall, and Patsy Raby, all of Franklin; one brother, Clyde Moses of Franklin; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 26, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Home, with Revs. Johnny Rogers and Eldon Owens officiating. Burial will be in the Macon County, North Carolina - Walnut Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Michael Carpenter, Randy McCall, Steve Raby, Tommy Stanfield, Charles Rathbone, Jim Brown and Earl Towery will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to Angel Home Health and Hospice, 170 Church St., Franklin.
Bryant Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Parents: William Henry MOSES and Fannie Belle KEENER.
