Personal records of Phillip Hogsed, dated May 1998:
-The following was related by J. Walter Moore in an article "Travelling Through History with J. Walter Moore", Clay County Progress, July 23, 1992. Parker Moore, son of Abner Moore, married a Kilpatrick and they had two children, Ira and Sarah. Parker had to leave on a wagon train and go to Texas to work in 1858. While he was away working, he got into a confrontation with someone who stole a neighbor's steer. The man (named Gardenhiar) who stole the steer shot and killed Parker for reporting it and since Texas was only a territory land then, there was never anything done about it. Parker is buried in Texas. Parents: Abner Senter MOORE and Annie COOK.
