Obituary from The Franklin Press, Macon County, North Carolina, dated April 2, 1970:
Mrs. Jane Moore
Mrs. Jane McDowell Moore, 85 year old resident of the Bethel Community and Macon County native, died Friday in a Burke County hospital following a three year illness.
She was the daughter of the late John and Susie McDowell, and had married the late Andrew Jackson Moore, who died November 13, 1969.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the Ellijay Baptist Church, of which she was a member with the Rev. Gene Hawkins, pastor, conducting the service.
Joe McDowell, Wayne Stewart, Harold Moore, Allen Nichols, Milas Gregory, and Wallace Morgan served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Moore is survive by four sons, Wendell Moore, of Rote 6, Franklin, John J. Moore of Blackville, S. C., Harold Moore, and Jack J. Moore, of Gastonia; two daughters, Mrs Pearl Stewart and Mrs. Irene Burrows, of Gastornia.
Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
