Obituary from The Skyland Post, Ashe County, North Carolina, dated March 23, 1944:
W. N. Kilby Buried Sunday
Funeral service was held on Sunday at the Oak Hill Baptist church for W.N. Kilby, 77, who died on Friday, March 17, at his home in Bina. Rev. Cicero Ashley conducted the service and burial was held at the Kilby cemetery.
Mr. Kilby, who was a native of this county, was a well-known farmer. He is survived by his wife, and three daughters; Mrs. E.M. Bowers, of Jefferson; Mrs Perne Dickson, of Winston-Salem, and Miss Edna Kilby, of Boone. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Callie Baldwin of Lansing. Parents: Milton KILBY and Hiley WALLACE.
