Rites At Ellijay -- J. P. Adams, Maconian Dies At Higdonville
John Parker Adams, farmer and lumberman of the Higdonville community (Route 5), died Monday, December 17, at 3 p.m. at his home. Eighty-two, he had been ill for three years.
Funeral services for the Macon County native were conducted on the 19th at 2:30 p.m. at the Ellijay Baptist Church, of which he was a member, by the Rev. Lee Crawford, the Rev. Lawson Synder, and the Rev. Oscar Nix. Burial was in the church cemetery with Oscar, William M., and Edward Adams, Dale, Clifton, and Wardie Young, and Jimmy Tippett serving as pallbearers.
Born Nov. 2 1890, Mr. Adams was the son of the late Marion and Mrs. Sallie Moore Adams. He had been married twice, in 1907 to Miss Polly Price, who died in 1931, and then in 1940 to Miss Lelia Ammons of this county, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Lee and Fred Adams, of Prinevill, Oreg., and John Parker Adams, Jr., of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Sallie Madison, of Terrebonne, Oreg., and Mrs Louin Young and Mrs. Riley Henry, both of Franklin, Route 5; a brother Oscar L. Adams, of Bridgeville, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs Henry Taylor of Cullowhee, Mrs Dorothy Williams, of Sylva, Route 2, and Mrs Fred Price, of Sedro-Woolly, Wash.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were handled by Bryant Funeral Home. Parents: Marion ADAMS and Sarah Angeline "Sally" MOORE.

Marion Adams, 89 Dies At Speedwell
Friends of Mrs. Polly Taylor and Allen and Parker Adams, of the Ellijay community sympathize with them in the death of their fater, Mrion Adams, 89 which occurred on Monday at the home of his son-in-law, Henry Taylor, at Speedwell, Jackson County.
Funeral services were held there Tuesday, and burial was in Mountain Grove Cemetery. Parents: Bannister ADAMS and Ann BROWN.
