Mrs. Mary Brown, a native of this county, died Sunday at her home in Ball Ground, Ga., it has been learned here.
She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T.B. Higdon.
Attending the funeral Monday afternoon in Ball Ground were Sam, A.R., and Major Higdon, and Mrs. Ellen Smith, all of this county. Parents: Thomas Bragg HIGDON and Mary Jane "Mollie" WEST.

Services For Mrs. Gibson
Mrs. Alice Higdon Gibson, widow of the late Walter Gibson, former member of the Board of Education and Board of County Commissioners, died at a local hospital last Wednesday. She was 80 years of age and had been in declining health for a number of years.
Born the daughter of William and Jane Moore Higdon on November 9, 1886, Miss Higodn married Walter Gibson on December 29, 1904.
Mrs. Gibson spent her life as a home maker and a worker in her church. She was a member of the Iotla Baptist Church for more than 50 years and a member of the Iotla Home Demonstation Club.
Services were conducted by the Rev. M. I. Brock, pastor, the Rev. C. C. Welch, and the Rev. Robert Clark at the Iotla Baptist Church, Friday, October 20. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Terrell Parrish, Boyd Burrell, John G. Murray, Dan R. Reynolds, Verlon Swafford and Edd Bradley.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by two sons, Frank and George Gibson, both of Route 4, Franklin; two daughters, Mrs. Claude Rogers and Mrs. Jack Cansler, both of Route 3, Franklin; and one sister, Mrs. J. H. McDowell of Franklin.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Bryant Funeral Home. Parents: William Washington "Big" HIGDON and Lydia Jane MOORE.

Mrs. Jim Gribble dies at home in Iotla section
Funeral services for Mrs. Jim W. Gribble, 74, who died at her home on Iotla, Sunday morning at 12:30 after suffering a stroke of paralysis about 10 weeks ago, were held at the Iotla Baptist church, Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock with the Rev. A.S. Solesbee officiating.
Mrs. Gribble, formerly Miss Elizabeth Higdon, of Higdonville, was a devoted member of the Iotla Baptist Church. She was born and reared in Macon County and was widely know throughout the county.
The deceased is survived by her husband, Mr. Jim W. Gribble, two daughters, Mrs. Fannie Stillwell of Iotla, Mrs. Reese of Winston Salem, two sons, John W. Gribble of Iotla, and Tom Gribble of Sylva; one brother, Mr. T.B. Higdon, of Higdonville, and one sister, Mrs. Margaret Bryson of Franklin.
The pallbearers were : Messers Albert L. Ramsey, H.P. Ray, J.R. Morrison, Lawrence B. Liner, Sloan Rickman and Theo W. Kiser. Parents: William Huffman HIGDON and Eva Jane "Jincy" BUCHANAN.

Pauline H. Harbin, 80 of Gastonia, died Feb.16, 1998, at Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was a native of Franklin, daughter of the late Leonard A. and Lula Corbin Higdon. She was retired from First Union National Bank and a member of Parkwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, James E. Harbin and a sibling Robie Higdon. She is survived by a daughter, Gail Holloway, of Gastonia, one sister, Bertha Bryson of Franklin, and three Grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Gaston Memorial Park, with Pastor Ned Matthews officiating. Parents: Leonard Abraham HIGDON and Lula S. CORBIN.

Young Lady Dies
Miss Pattie Higdon, 16, died at the home of her Uncle, J. H. Cunningham, on the Cullasaja, June 5. The remains were buried at Bethel church with Rev. H. C. Freemna in charge of the funeral services. The deceased is survived by her father, Major Higdon, one brother, Carl and one sister, Mrs. Leona Holland. Parents: Major F. HIGDON and Mary Belle CUNNINGHAM.
