Mr. Henry

Grady James Henry, 86, of Franklin, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, at his residence.
A native of Macon County, he was a son of the late Jacob W. and Carrie Moses Henry. He was a timberman. He served as the Ellijay postmaster for 13 years. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon, choir director, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, six brothers, one son-in-law and two grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eula Houston Henry of Franklin; three daughters, Lydia Conley of Franklin; Carrie Lee Cook of Franklin and Stella Young of Franklin; three sons, Conrad Henry, Riley Henry and Warren Henry all of Franklin; a brother, Tom Henry of Franklin; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Home. Revs. Roy Hogan, Earl Hughes and Howard Southard will officiate. Burial will be in the Ellijay Baptist Church Cemetery.
Dennis Conley, Calvin Conley, Craig Holland, Robert Marcie, Joe Keener, Mike Cope and Mike Henry will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 5007 Monroe Rd., Suite 101, Charlotte, N.C. 28205.

Jake W. Henry Passes Jan. 26
Funeral Services Held At Ellijay Baptist Church Last Friday
Jake W. Henry, 70 widely known farmer and cattle raiser of the Ellijay section, died at 3 o'clock last Thursday morning at his home following an illness of several months.
Mr. Henry, who also was interested in minerals of this section was the son of the late William and Katherine Moore Hnery. He was born and raised in the Ellijay section and was a member of Ellijay Bpatist church.
Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Carrie Moses; four daughters, Mrs. Howard Kenner, of Boston, Mass., Mrs Grady Mashburn, Mrs. Albert Rogers and Mrs. Richard Ammons of Ellijay; six sons, Fred, Charlie, Canton, Grady, Thomas and Joe Henry, all of Ellijay; one brother, R. A. Hnery, of Ventura, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs Edith Carpenter, of Los Angeles, Calif.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Ellijay Baptist church conducted by the Rev. E. W. Jamison of Sylva. Bural was in the church cemetery.
The pallbearers were: Joseph Ashear, Ransom Ledford, Henry Corbin, Melvin Bowman, Fred Williams and Asbury Gregory. Parents: William Wilson "Bill" HENRY and Louisa Catherine "Kate" MOORE.

John T. Henry Passed Monday
Was Well Known Citizen Of Ellijay Community; Funeral Tuesday
John T. Henry, 76, died at his home in the Ellijay community Monday morning at 8 o'clock following a lingering illness of several months. Death was due to heart trouble and complications.
Mr. Henry, a farmer, was widely known throughout the county, having spent the most of his life in the mercantile business at Ellijay, and was also postmaster of the Ellijay office for a number of years. He was a member of the Ellijay Baptist church and a son of the late William and Kate Moore Henry.
Funeral services were held at the Ellijay Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The Rev. J. J. Vinson, was in charge of the services. Interment was in the church cemetery.
The pallbearers were; Alex Moore, Charlie Crawford, Jim Webb, Jack Moore, Jake Young, and John C. Dills.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Royal Ivestor, of Winston-Salem; Mrs. Columbus Ammons, of Shooting creek, in Clay county; Mrs. Ernest Dills, of Gneiss; four sons, Lee Henry, of Ventura, Calif.; Frank and Napaoleon Henry, of Detroit, Mich.; and Robert Henry, of Ellijay; one sister, Mrs. David Carpenter, of San Diego, Calif.; two brothers, R.A. Henry, of Ventura, Calif., and Jake Henry, of Ellijay. Parents: William Wilson "Bill" HENRY and Louisa Catherine "Kate" MOORE.

Joe Henry

Joe Geisler Henry, 78, of Windcrest Ridge, Sylva, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Harris Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, at Sylva First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Paul Christy and Phyllis Glahn officiating. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesville.
Pallbearers were the Methodist Men.
He was a native of Jackson County and, together with his mother, owned and operated Henry Dry Cleaners in Bryson City. He was a long-time member of Sylva First United Methodist Church, where he was part of the Methodist Men, Joy Group, Sunday school secretary and served on the official board. Prior to his illness, he worked as a senior companion through Mountain Projects. He was a daily visitor at the Senior Cafe at the Sylva nutrition site and also participated in the Community Table program. He graduated from Western Carolina University in 1948. He was the son of the late Fred and Mary Geisler Henry.
Surviving are one sister, Mary Bess Shelley of Hamlet.
