Sallie Belle Crawford Higdon, 85, of the Holly Springs Community, died Friday in a Clayton Nursing Home.
A native of Macon County and a daughter of the late Emerson G. and Ellen Conley Crawford, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Sugarfork Baptis Church and Women of the World Auxiliary Camp No. 889. She was the wife of Charles Foster Higdon, who died in 1979.
Surviving are a daughter, Ellen H. Goodwin of Franklin; a sister, Addie Corbin of Franklin and two granddaughters.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Higdonville Baptist Church with Revs. Blurth Crawford and Earl Dendy officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Bruce Crawford, Bob Corbin, Richard Young, Steve Higdon, Marshall Higdon, Denton Higdon, all nephews, served as pallbearers. Parents: Emerson Grameron CRAWFORD and Ellen Virginia CONLEY.
