Wife of Former Sheriff Moore Dies
Mrs. Ada Corbin Moore a former school teacher and wife of former Macon Sheriff Alex Moore, died Wednesday, June 16, at 10:30 a.m. in a local hospital. She was 79 and had been in declining health for several years.
Born Feb. 24, 1886, she was the daughter of Noah and Mrs. Mary Bolick Corbin, of this county. Mrs. Moore was a member of First Baptist Church and was married to Mr. Moore Dec. 24, 1911.
Funeral services were conducted the 18th at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church by Dr. W. Thomas Lane. Burial was at Woodlawn cemetery. Pallbeareres were Bruce Bryant, Bill Cansler, Gus Baldwin, John Murray, T. L. Famison, and John Jamison.
Surviving in addition to here husband, are two sons, George Parker Moore, of Washington D. C., and Alec Moore, Jr., of Vienna, Va.; two daughteres, Mrs. William L. Davenport of Franklin and Mrs. Henry a Di-Goyler, of Vienna; two brother, Wildon, Sr., and Mrs. James M. Raby, both of Franklin, Route 4; and eight grandchildren.
Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
