James Bower Calloway

James Bower Calloway, 71, of Jefferson, passed away, October 19 at his home. He was born in Ashe County on April 1914 to Charlie and Anne Bare Calloway.
Funeral services were held October 22, at 2 p.m. at Bristol Baptist Church by Rev. Billy Joe Blevins, and Rev. Kermit Goodman with burial in Ashe County, North Carolina - Ashe Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs Gladys Stike Calloway; three sons, J.B. and Johnny Calloway, both of West Jefferson and Richard Calloway of Jefferson. Also surviving are three Daughters, Mrs Dan Holman and Mrs. Susie Lyall, both of Jefferson and Mrs. Betty Goodman of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers, Carl and John Calloway, both of Jefferson and two sisters, Hattie Calloway, Sacramento, California, and Margaret Holt of Jefferson. Mr. Calloway had 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
