F. Thomas Rites Set In Norfolk

Funeral services for Fred P. (Fritz) Thomas, 58, of 1201 S. Fifth St., Norfolk, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Norfolk. The Rev. Martin L. Russert will officiate. Burial will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 16 of Norfolk. Visitations are from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Home for Funerals in Norfolk.

Mr. Thomas, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Thomas, was born May 15, 1915 in the St. Mary's community near Humphrey. He died at 3:47 p.m. Sunday in a Norfolk hospital, having been a patient there since June 1. On March 31, 1946 he married Margaret Krumwiede at Norfolk and the couple lived at Columbus two years before coming to Norfolk. Mr. Thomas was a retired carpet layer for Ballantyne's. Survivors are his wife, Margaret; three brothers, Adolph of Albion, Joe of Platte Center and Ray of Detroit, Mich.; six sisters, Mrs. Erna Steiner, Mrs. Verona Kuhlen and Mrs. Everett Jones, all of Columbus, Mrs. Margaret Steiner of Clarkson, Mrs. Paul Franks of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Frederick Hoffman of Battle Creek, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers and one sister.
