Battle Creek -- Rose E. Hoffman, 89, of Battle Creek died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Norfolk.
Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in
Battle Creek with the Rev. Steve Boes officiating. Burial is at the
parish cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday at the church with a 7:30 p.m. rosary cunducted by the Rev. Milton Thomas.
Mrs. Hoffman was born Oct. 24, 1907, at Norfolk to Ferdinand and
Agnes (Schneck) Thomas. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School in
Creston.
She married Raymond Koch in 1931 at Lindsay. He died in 1936. She
married Frederick Hoffman July 9, 1941, in Columbus. She lived in
Omaha, Norfolk, Pierce and the Battle Creek area.
Survivors include four sons, Larry of Meadow Grove, Robert (Kay) of
Endicott, N.Y., Thomas of Norfolk and James (Linda) of Middlesboro,
Ky.; two daughters, Margaret (Bill) Reisdorff of Battle Creek and Mary
Ellen (Leonard) Weiland of Stanwood, Iowa; two sisters, Hilda Franks of
Riverview, Mich., and Martha Jones of Columbus; 16 grandchildren; and 20
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by ther first husband, second husband on
Sept. 12, 1980, two sons, one daughter, seven brothers, three sisters
and one grandchild.
Steffen Mortuary of Battle Creek is in charge of arrangements.
