Erna M. Steiner, 87, of 1709 10th St., Columbus, died Sunday at Columbus Community Hospital. Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bonaventure Church in Columbus with Rev. Milton Thomas and Rev. Clement Leahy officiating. Burial is in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus, with a 7:30 p.m. rosary. Mrs. Steiner was born March 18, 1899, at Norfolk, the daughter of Ferdinand and Agnes Schneck Thomas. She married William A. Steiner Nov. 11, 1919, at St. Francis Church in Humphrey. Mrs. Steiner resided in Humphrey until moving to Columbus in 1956. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and Guild. Surviving are four sons, LaVern of Norfolk, Joseph of Fremont, Dennis and Ralph, both of Columbus; eight daughters, Bernadette (Mrs. Francis) Sueper of Lindsay, Rosemary (Mrs Ray) Wahlgren of Coon Rapids, Minn., Lucille (Mrs. Henry) Chochon, Esther (Mrs. Joe) Tworek, Mary (Mrs. Gene) Bierman, Agnes, Patricia and Judy Steiner, all of Columbus; 57 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and three sister, Martha (Mrs. Everett) Jones of Columbus, Mrs. Rose Hoffman of Battle Creek and Mrs. Hilda Franks of Riverview, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 6, 1966, a daughter, eight brothers and four sisters.
