Lindsay (Tuesday, Dec 13) Funeral Services
Funeral services were held at 9 a. m. Monday at the Holy Family church
for Mrs. Fred Thomas, whose death occurred Thursday following a several
months illness. Death resulted from creeping paralysis. Rev. Father
Zaplotnik officiated at the services and burial was made in the parish
cemetery. Pallbearers were: Bernard Weise, Sr.; William Brennies, Bill
Oberhauser, John Polzin, Ben Bothe and Frank Krings, of Humphrey.
Honorary bearers were: Mrs. Oberhauser, Mrs. Brennies, Mrs. Polzin,
Mrs. Herman Behrens and Mrs. Elizabeth Kurtenbach. Agnes Sneck was born
Nov. 8, 1872, in Louisental, Germany, where she spent her girlhood. On
Nov. 21, 1891 she was united in marriage with Ferdinand Thomas at
Louisental and they resided there two years. In 1893 they came to this
country, locating in Norfolk, where they resided until 1909 when they
moved to a farm near Humphrey. In 1923 they moved to Lindsay, where
they have since resided on a farm. They were parents of 16 children,
three of whom died in infancy. Besides her aged husband, she is
survived by seven sons, Helmuth, of Russell, S. D.; Rudolph, of
Effington, N. D.; Herman, of Newman Grove, Adolph, of Albion, and
Raymond, Joe and Ferdinand, of Lindsay; six daughters, Mrs. Rudolph
Steiner, of Creston, Mrs. Raymond Cook, of Creston, Mrs. Bill Steiner
and Misses Verona, Martha and Hildegarde, all of Lindsay. One sister,
Mrs. Frank Dollarsheller, of Humphrey, also survives.
