Died While Being Taken To Hospital

Ralph Sandler, 53, of Little Mill Rd., Franklinville, died yesterday afternoon while being taken to the Audubon Hospital in the Glassboro ambulance after suffering a heart attack.

Mr. Sandler, a plumber, was first stricken ill on Monday night and appeared to have suffered from a heat stroke. Shortly after 4 o'clock Tuesday, Mr. Sandler again collapsed. Members of the Glassboro ambulance crew and Pitman Emergency Squad were summoned to the home of the stricken man and a resuscitator was used in an attempt to revive him. When the oxygen administered seemed to improve his condition, he was placed in the Glassboro ambulance to be taken to the hospital. Oxygen was also administered during the trip, but he died enroute.

Dr. Herman W. Wright, a county coroner, issued a certificate of death.

Mr. Sandler is survived by his wife, Carmella, three sons, Leroy, Richard and David; two daughters, Gloria and Faith; three brothers, Louis, of Glassboro; Peter, of Clayton, and Thomas, of Newark, and seven grandchildren.
