Jennie was Edward's second wife. They had no children. We believe that Jennie was a nickname and that her real name was Sara Jane as indicated in her obituary. Daily Local News, June 26, 1916 (Monday) Mrs. Sara Jane Brownback, wife of Edward Brownback, of Phoenixville, died Saturday morning at her late residence on Milligan street, following a lengthy illness. About three months ago Mrs. Brownback was operated on at the local hospital, after which she seemed so much improved that she returned to her home. About seven weeks ago, however, she became worse and steadily grew weaker until death resulted this morning. Cause of death is attributed to dropsy. She was in her 62d year. All her life Mrs. Brownback had resided in that vicinity, having been born in Mont Clare. She was well known and possessed a kind disposition. A short time ago she became a member of St. John's Reformed Church. The survivors are her husband, Edward Brownback, three brothers, Irvin and Harry Speece, of Phoenixville, and Elmer Speece, of Norristown. |
