Many thanks to cousin, Susan (Williams) Mortensen for providing me with her material and research which enabled me to positively identify the ancestry of my great, great grandfather Charles Williams, a barber from Indiana who moved the family to Iowa. Thanks to Susan, I now know that Charles was a descendant of Jonathan Williams of Prince George Co., Maryland, whose family were Quakers and who moved in subsequent generations to North Carolina, Tennessee and Indiana. Read about Edna Williams Wean Mountain, my Great Aunt who was murdered after one too many love affairs. Read the amusing diary my grandmother kept of my grandparents' Trip to California in the 1939. Read about my grandparents and their Homestead on the Great Divide in Colorado. Read the Dedication page to my mother, Dorothy Williams. She served in the Marine Corps during WWII and later went to work for the United Nations in Shanghai, China. Also read the Tribute to my Parents, WWII Veterans Letters From China were written by my mother during her service with the United Nations shortly after WWII. Many amusing anecdotes. |
