Roger Ludlow came to America on the Mary and John in 1630. He was Assistant and Deputy-Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony and came in 1635 to CT where became the first Deputy Governor of the Colony of Connecticut and wrote the first CT Constitution. He returned to England in 1654 where Cromwell made him a member of the Commission for determining claims to forfeited lands in Ireland. He lived thereafter in Dublin. His brother, George immigrated to America at the same time, also a passenger on the Mary and John, and settled in York county, Virginia where he became a wealthy plantation owner. |
