Inventory, filed 27 Jan. 1727-28, of the estate of Humphrey Richards, baker, late of Boston, taken 11 Dec. 1727, lists a large silver cup, small silver cup, silver saltceller; "gould necklie," at £4-5s; pair of "gould buttons"; "gould locket," etc., nice things, total of £563-12; John Richards adm. d.b.n. attests to the same. Bond, 9 Sept, 1723, whereby John richards, baker, with Samuel Bree, Innkeeper, and Joseph Civerly, miller, all of Boston, was appointed adminstrator of the estate of hius late father. Inventory of 14 Feb. 1727-8, extate of Mr. Humphrey ricahrds, baker, includes a lare Bible, a negro man, no silver listed in this document, which Susanna attested, total of £727-17-03. Letter of administration, d.b.n. granted, 9 Sept, 1728: Whereas the administratrix of the estate of your father, Hmphrey Richards, baker, decd., was granted unto his relict, Susanna, since decd., and the estate not settled, therfore said administration is not granted to you, John richards, of Boston, baker. Account of John Richards as administrator of the estate of same; the heirs of Hmuphrye [Jr.] also decd., a double share of £189-05-05, a single share of £94-12-09 to John Richards, Belcher Richards[?], Obadiah Richards and Samuel Richards; later ethey also had: heirs of Humphry[Jr.], £164-05-09; rest each had £82-02-09; undated. Distribution to the heirs; Humphry Richards Jr; Susanna, wife of Thomas Belcher, Obadiah Richards and Samuel Richards, undated. Estate incapable of division among the children; 30 Sept. 1737, so a committee appointed to dovide the same, same day. Warrant 4 May 1737, to audit account of Humphry's esate, because of sundry disputes, etc., includes copy of the inventory that lists the gold and silver".1
