SAMSON - Mr. W.D. Pridgen, 78, of 200 N. Broad St., Samson, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998 in the Courtyard by the Mill Pond Nursing Home in Marianna, Fla.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the, Lowery Church of Christ with the Minister Harry 0. Adkison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.

Visitation will be tonight from 6 until 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Mr. Pridgen will be placed in the church one hour before time for services.

Mr. Pridgen was born June 23, 1920 in Geneva County, the son of the late Noah Samuel and Beulah Cordelia Ainsworth Pridgen. Mr. Pridgen was a member of the Lowery Church of Christ. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He worked for the Mutual Savings Life Insurance Company, Merchants Department Store of Samson and was an automobile salesman. He was preceded in death by three brothers Halver J., Wilburn and Gaskin Pridgen; three sisters, Eula Hopkins, Roxy Creech and Ellafair French.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell Mable Whigham Pridgen, Samson; four sons, Dwight and Billy Pridgen, both of Montgomery, Doug Pridgen, Mobile, and Bobby Pridgen, Dothan; two brothers, Barney and J.C. Pridgen, both of Samson; nine grandchildren.
