Will of William Oatridge 1938 Source: w2: Principal Probate Registry Wills. (544) PPR Will Abstract: William OATRIDGE of Wellington House Deal Kent retired Confectioner. 1. Appointed wife Kate Lambert son Ronald William and son-in-law John TAPPING as Executors and Trustees. 2. To wife freehold of Wellington House and all household articles and motor cars 3. To Ronald William and John TAPPING £40 each provided they prove the will 4. Bequeath all real and personal property (except otherwise disposed of) to be sold and converted to pay for: (1) Funeral testamentary expenses debts and legacies in this will (2) From the income arising from the said trust to pay wife £500 pa free of duty (3) To pay free of all duties the net residue to all children living at my death in equal shares (Unless they die leaving issue in which case share to be spent on education and advancement) (4) After the death of my wife to divide the capital and income equally among children living at my death subject to provisions: 5. If any child has died in my lifetime with issue living at my death shall be held in trust as part of his or her personal estate. 6. The Trustees shall retain the share of my daughter Ethel JACKSON and pay an income during her life (and after her death?) and hold both capital and income in trust for other beneficiaries. 7. I direct that after the death of my wife the following sums be brought into the hotchpot and accounted for: (a) By my son Sydney OATRIDGE £1500 (b) By my son Ronald OATRIDGE £500 (c) By my daughter Ethel JACKSON remaining loan on house in Wembley. Shares of the above-named children (after death of my wife) shall be reduced accordingly. Shall not affect division under Clause 4(3) Witnessed by G W Hardman Solicitor Deal and J.L.O. Brand Clerk to Messrs Hardman and Sons. CODICIL: Revoke the appointment of John TAPPING as one of my executors and appoint son Norman Charles OATRIDGE. Revoke Clause 2 of said will and bequeath house and contents to wife Kate Lambert OATRIDGE during her widowhood and thereafter for my daughter Marjorie Vivenne Mary OATRIDGE absolutely.
