Will of William Oatridge 1808 Source: w11: Consistory Court of Canterbury. (1222) CC Canterbury Copy of Will: In the Name of God Amen I William Oatridge Mariner and of the Town and Borough of Deal in the County of Kent being by the abundant goodness of God of a sound and disposing Mind and Memory Do Constitute this to be my last Will and Testament and Desire it to be received by all as such Imprimis I commend my soul to God in whose infinite mercy I hope will gracious accept it to eternal Bliss my Body I resign to be interred with becoming decency without needless Pomp at the discretion of my beloved Wife As to my wordly affairs I will that all my lawful debts be paid Item I will give and bequeath to my beloved Wife Mary Oatridge my part of my Dwelling situate and being in Brewer Street in Deal aforesaid she being joint purchaser with me to enjoy every benefit arising from the dwelling and appurtenances thereint belonging during her natural life at whose decease I will and bequeath the said above named part of Dwelling House in Brewer Street in Deal aforesaid to my Son and Daughter William Oatridge and Mary Oatridge Share and Share alike or their Heirs and Assigns I will give and bequeath to my beloved Wife Mary Oatridge during her natural life and then to the above William and Mary Share and aShare alike all my Lands Houses Tenements Jewels Plate Linen ?ould Furniture Book Debts Securities for Money and every other matter and thing whatsoever and wheresoever being my property I nominate and appoint John Woodruff of Deal and my Wife Executor and Executirx of these presents and for the due observance of this my last Will and Testament I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal in the presence of the Twenty Eight day of November One thousand Eight hundred and eight - The mark of WIlliam Oatridge In the presence of Thos Barratt The mark of Longworth Ann Newing Probate Statement: The before registered Will of William Oatridge deceased was proved the Twenty seventh day of May 1809 before the Revered Joshua Dix Clerk Surrogate to the Right Honourable Mr William Scott Knight Doctor of Laws Commissary General of the City and Diocese of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Mary Oatridge Widow the Relict and one of the Executors named in the said Will she being first sworn duly to perform the same Power being to John Woodruff whenever he shall apply for the same.Updated on 16 Mar 2006
