This is the last Will and Testament of me THOMAS OTRIDGE of Uley in the County of  Gloucester Tailor - I give and devise all and singular my real estate and the use and enjoyment 

of all and singular my personal estate and effects unto my beloved wife ELIZABETH OTRIDGE  and her assigns; during such and so long time as she shall remain my Widow and unmarried 

Nevertheless it is my will that she my said wife do and shall during so long time as she shall be 

entitled to my said real estate  permit my two Daughters namely MARY EVELINA OTRIDGE and  ELIZABETH LUDEVINA OTRIDGE  and each of them  to reside in  and occupy in common with  my said wife  the Tenement or Dwelling House with the appurtenances now occupied by me 

during such time as my said Daughters and each of them shall remain unmarried. 

And also that she my said wife do and shall during so long time as she shall be entitled  aforesaid  also permit my two Sons HORATIO OTRIDGE  and ALFRED OTRIDGE  to use and  enjoy the shop which I now use in my business of a Tailor  during so long time as they and each 

of them shall remain unmarried 

And from and after the decease or marriage again of my said wife  or in the event of my said  wife refusing to permit my said two Daughters to reside in my said Dwellinghouse and 

apppurtenances  or my said two sons to use and enjoy my said shop as aforesaid  after the  expiration of fifteen days notice in writing given or delivered to her my said wife by my said sons  and daughters any or either of them  demanding to reside in  use and enjoy the premises as 

aforesaid  then and in all any or either of the said cases I give and devise all my said real estate  in manner following  that is to say 

I give and devise the Tenement or Dwellinghouse (comprising the Kitchen only and rooms over / 

Brewhouse and Garden Ground now occupied by me  unto and to the use of such person or  persons for such estate or estates interest or interests ends intents and purposes as my said  Daughter MARY EVELINA OTRIDGE by any deed or deeds writing or writings revocable or 

irrevocable  to be by her sealed and delivered in the presence of and attested by two credible  witnesses  or by her last Will and Testament or any Codicil or Codicils thereto to be signed and  published by her in the presence of and attested by three credible witness shall direct limit or  appoint give or devise the same  and in default of and until such direction limitation or 

appointment gift or devise  then to the Use of the said MARY EVELINA OTRIDGE her Heirs and  assigns for ever; chargeable nevertheless and I hereby expressly charge the same premises with  the payment of twenty pounds sterling  to my said Daughter ELIZABETH LUDEVINA  within 

twelve calendar months after the decease marriage again or otherwise of my said wife as 

aforesaid 

And I also give and devise the Tenement or shop and room over  adjoining the above  now also  occupied by me  with the use of the necessary House  as now used by Robert Holder and John 

Ford my tenants (and which shop at present communicates with the said other Tenement (end of  page 1  signed by Thos Otridge  Jno Fisher  Oswald Exell and John Hunt) 

(Page 2) or Dwelling House occupied by me unto the use of my Son RAYMOND OTRIDGE his 

Heirs and Assigns for ever - charged and chargeable nevertheless  and I do hereby expressly  charge the same premises  with the payment of ten pounds  to my son ALFRED OTRIDGE 

within twelve calendar months after the decease marriage again or otherwise of my said wife as  aforesaid - I also give and devise the cottage or Tenement within the Garden Ground thereto 

belonging now occupied by my Son WILLIAM OTRIDGE  unto and to the use of my son  ALFRED OTRIDGE  his Heirs and Assigns for ever - I also give and devise the Tenement or  Dwelling House now occupied by Robert Holder unto and to the use of my Son THOMAS 

OTRIDGE his Heirs and Assigns for ever; charged and chargeable nevertheless and I do hereby  expressly charge the same  with the payment of one annuity  or clear yearly sum of two pounds  sterling  unto or for the use and benefit of my said Son WILLIAM OTRIDGE during his life  by  four equal quarterly payments  in the year of the first quarterly payment thereof to begin and be 

made in three calendar months after the decease marriage again or otherwise of my said wife as  aforesaid 

I also give and devise the Tenement or Dwelling House  with the Garden Ground thereto 

belonging  now occupied by John Ford unto and to the use of my son HORATIO OTRIDGE  his  Heirs and Assigns for ever charged and chargeable nevertheless and I do hereby expressly  charge the same with the payment of twenty pounds sterling to my Son ORLANDO OTRIDGE 

within twelve calendar months next after the decease marriage again or otherwise of my said  Wife as aforesaid Provided always and I do hereby declare it to be my Will and meaning  that in  case my said Children the said MARY EVELINA OTRIDGE  RAYMOND OTRIDGE and 

HORATIO OTRIDGE  or any or either of them respectively  or their respective Heirs and  Assigns  shall neglect  refuse  or decline  to pay the said several legacies  or charges of twenty  pounds  ten pounds and twenty pounds respectively  charged on the Premises so devised to  each of them as aforesaid  demand being duly made of the same by them respectively  or in 

case my said son THOMAS OTRIDGE shall at any time or times  neglect  refuse or decline  to  pay the said annuity  or clear yearly sum of two pounds  and shall suffer the same to be in  arrears by the space of fifteen calendar months next after the same shall become due and 

payable  Then and in or either of the said cases  I give and devise the Premises so given and  devised to (end of page 2  signed as for page 1) 

(page 3) such of my said Sons and Daughters  as shall so refuse  neglect or decline to pay the 

said several legacies or charges and annuity as last aforesaid  unto and to the use of the others  of my before named eight Children  their Heirs and Assigns for ever  as Tenants in common 

And from and after the decease or marriage again of my said Wife  I dispose of all and singular 

my personal Estate in manner following  that is to say 

I give and bequeath a bed  bedstead  and bedding  unto each of my four Sons and Daughters 

namely  HORATIO  ALFRED  MARY EVELINA and ELIZABETH LUDEVINA 

I give my Clock and Case to my Son HORATIO  and I also give my Desk to my son ALFRED 

All the rest residue and remainder of my personal Estate and Effects not before disposed of 

give and bequeath unto my said Daughters MARY EVELINA and ELIZABETH LUDEVINA 

absolutely  equally to be divided between them share and share alike ANd I appoint my said Son 

and Daughter HORATIO OTRIDGE and MARY EVELINA OTRIDGE  joint Executor and  Executrix of this my Will And I hereby revoke all former wills  codicils and other testamentary  dispositions by me at any time heretofore made  and do declare this only to be my last Will and  Testament 

In witness whereof I the said Thomas Otridge the said Testator have to this my last Will and  Testament written and contained in this  and the two preceding sheets of Paper set my hand and  seal  that is to say  my hand to the two preceding sheets  and my hand and seal to this the third 

and last sheet  this twentieth day of April in the year of our Lord our thousand eight hundred and  twenty five 

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator Thomas Otridge as and for his last 

Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence  of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.........signed by Thos Otridge
