Ref: PRO PROB 11/539 dated 6 March 1713 Proved March 1713/14; & 1714  ROBERT OATRIDGE OF BUTLERS COURT IN PARISH LECHLADE  Co. GLOUC. 

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I ROBERT OATRIDGE OF BUTLERS COURT IN THE PARISH  OF LETCHLADE IN THE Co of Glouc. gentleman doe make this my last will & testament 

IMPRIMIS I give my soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping for salvation through the 

merritts & intercession of my Saviour Jesus Christ AND MY BODY I DESIRE may be buryed at  the discretion of my EXECUTORS hereafter named. 

I GIVE & DEVISE UNTO MY SISTER ANNE OATRIDGE spinster & to CHARLES DOILY of 

SOUTHROP IN CO. GLOUC. gentleman & their heires ALL THAT MY MESSUAGE OR  TENEMENT CALLED BUTLERS COURT & ALL MY MESSUAGES LANDS TENEMENTS &  hereditaments situate lying & being IN THE PARISH OF LETCHLARD aforesaid or elsewhere in 

the Co. of Glouc. upon TRUST that they & the survivor of them & the heires of such survivor doe  & shall as soon as conveniently may be after my decease absolutely SELL & DISPOSE OF THE  SAME for the best price that can be gott for the same. 

AND I WILL THAT THE PURCHASE MONEY BE PAID INTO THE HANDS OF MY SAID  SISTER ANN OATRIDGE & the said CHARLES DOILY or their heirs forthe purposes hereafter  mentioned. 

I give & bequeath to my said SISTER ANNE OATRIDGE & THE SAID CHARLES DOILY their  Executors & administrators all & every my LOTTERY TICKETTS & LOTTERY ORDERS & ALL  SUMES OF MONEY DUE TO ME thereupon & upon any Government or other SECURITY &  ALL OTHER MY PERSONALL ESTATE  GOODS & CHATTELLS WHATSOEVER UPON 

TRUST that they & the survivor of them shall as soon as conveinently may be after my death  absolutely SELL & DISPOSE OF THE SAME AND THE MONEY ARISING BY THE SALE AS  AFORESAID AS WELL OF MY SAID REAL ESTATE as of my said PERSONALL ESTATE 

SHALL (from & after my debts funerall charges & legacys & the charges of the execution of the  TRUSTS IN THIS MY WILL  first discharged) BE DIVIDED INTO 5 EQUALL PARTS & SHARES 

THAT IS TO SAY --------- 

I GIVE I share of l/5th part TO MY SAID SISTER ANN OATRIDGE 

ALSO l/5th part TO MY NEPHEW JOHN BATHURST ONE OF THE SONS OF MY SISTER  MARGARET BATHURST. 

ALSO l/5th part to MY SISTER ELIZABETH POWELL  THE WIFE OF JOHN POWELL clerke 

during her life to be paid unto her own proper hands for her own proper & separate use & after  her death to be divided equally amongst her children. 

ALSO I GIVE THE INTEREST OF ANOTHER l/5th part TO MY SISTER MERIAM MORGAN 

THE WIFE OF THOMAS MORGAN clerke during her life for her own proper & separate use &  after her death to be paid to her children equally. 

ALSO I GIVE THE INTEREST OF THE REMAINING l/5th part to MY SISTER SARAH MINCHIN 

THE WIFE OF THOMAS MTNCHIN grocer  during her life for her own proper & separate use &  after her death to be divided equally amongst her children. 

AND IT IS MY WILL THAT NONE OF THE HUSBANDS OF MY SAID SISTERS ELIZABETH 

MERIAM  & SARAH shall intermeddle with the INTEREST OF the respective shares given to 

them  & the same shall not be subject to the control debts or engagements of their said  husbands but the respective receipts of my said sisters (notwithstanding their covertures) be  sufficient discharges for the INTEREST MONEY to them given as aforesaid. 

AND IT IS MY WILL THAT THE RENTS & PROFITTS OF MY SAID REAL ESTATE & THE  PROFITT & PRODUCE OF MY PERSONALL ESTATE shall untill the same can be sold to be  paid to my said SISTERS ANNE  ELIZABETH  MERIAM & SARAH & TO MY SAID NEPHEW 

JOHN BATHURST equally 

I GIVE TO JOHN CLEEVE ESQUIRE & Anne his wife 20 pounds apiece to buy them mourning &  TO JOHN CLEEVE & SARAH CLEEVE son & daughter of the said JOHN 20 pounds apiece to 

buy them mourning. 

AND TO MR ALEXANDER CLEEVE pewterer & his wife (unnamed) 20 pounds apiece to buy  them mourning. 

AND I GIVE TO MARY ELLIS widow the sum of 10 pounds. 

I constitute & appoint MY SAID SISTER ANNE OATRIDGE & the said CHARLES DOILEY  EXECUTORS OF THIS MY LAST WILL & TESTAMENT  whereof I have hereunto set my hand 

& scale this 6th day of MARCH ANNO DOM 1713 in the 12th year of the Reign of Our Sovereign  LADY ANNE by the Grace of God of Great Britaine Ffrance & Ireland Queen  Defender of the  ffaith.
