(998) Archdeaconry of Wilts Will Transcript: 

In the name of God Amen I Rice Oatridge otherwise Cripps of Oaksey in the County of Wilts  Labourer being of sound mind and memory and understanding thanks be given to God for the  same do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following / that is to say 

Imprimis I give unto my Brothers Joseph Daniel and Simon the Sum of two Shillings and Six  pence each  Item I give and devise unto my brother Josiah all my Messuages Land Tenements and 

Hereditaments situate and being in Bisley in the County of Gloucester to hold to my said Brother  his Heirs & ??? for over.  All the rest and residue of my goods chattles and Estates whatsoever I give and bequeath unto  my said Brother Josiah and I hereby appoint him sole Executor of this my last Will and testament 

and Hereby ???? & make void all former and other Will and Wills by me howtofore made.  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the third day of June in the Year of  our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty four.

Sealed signed published and declared by the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in  the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other 

subscribed our names as witnesses hereto

Administration Bond (on Executor being deceased at time of probate) 

Know all men by these presents that the John Oatridge otherwise Cripps of Oaksey in the County 

of Wilts Carpenter  John Hawkins of the same place yeoman and Richard Holtham of the same  place yeoman are held and ??? bound unto the Reverend and Worshipful Arthur Coham York?  Master of and Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry of Wilts in the sum of Sixty pounds of good and 

lawful money of Great Britain to be paid unto the said Archdeacon or his certain Attorney his  Executors Administrators or Assigns for the Payment of which well and truly to be made ??? by  these presents sealed with our Seals firmly bind ourselves and each of us by himself severally 

for the whole our and each of our Heirs Executors and Administrators dated the Nineteenth day  of December in thirty third year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the  Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defencer of the Faith and so forth and in  the year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety two. 

The Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bound on John Oatridge otherwise  Cripps lawful Nephew of Rice Oatridge otherwise Cripps late of Oaksey in the County and  Archdeaconry of Wilts deceased and Administrator of all and singular his Good Chattles and 

Credits together with his last Will and Testament annexed Josiah Oatridge otherwise Cripps the  sole Executor therein named dying in the lifetime of the said Testator "-----------"----------"--------  etc 

Do and shall well and truly execute and perform the said will and pay the Debts and Legacies of  the said deceased as far as his Goods Chattles and Credits will thereto extend and the Law bind  his And also? shall make or cause to be made a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the  said Goods Chattles and Credits of the said deceased which have and shall come to the Hands 

Possession or Knowledge of the said John OAtridge otherwise Cripps or into the Hands  Possession or Knowledge of any other Person or Persons for h? and the same so made shall  exhibit or cause to be exhibited into the Registry of the Archdeacon of Wilts on or before the last 

day of March next ensuing (if required) And Lastly shall make and render a true and just account  of and upon his Administration and well and truly pay and deliver over such Sum and Sums of  Money and such other the Testator's Estate and Effects as shall be remaining in his Hands to  such Person John Oatridge otherwise Cripps shall be thereto lawfully required Then this 

obligation to be said otherwise to remain in force

At Malmesbury in the day and Year above? John Oatridge otherwise Cripps the Ad'strator  aforesaid was duly sworn before me Wm Thorpe  Surrogate
