Will of John Otridge 1850 This is the Last Will and Testamnet of me John Otridge of Newington Place Newington in the County of Surrey Esquire I give and bequeath to my son in law HENRY MOGFORD and my grandson JOHN MOGFORD son of the said Henry Mogford the legacy of nineteen guineas each and to RICHARD NEWMAN of Upper Wellington Street Covent Garden Gentleman the legacy of fifty pounds and I give five pounds apiece to each of my legatees and annuitants and five pounds apiece to each of my children and grandchildren for mourning and two pounds to each of my servants for mourning and I direct my executors to purchase a Government Life Annuity in the name and upon the life and for the benefit of each of my servants ANNE PEARSON and MARY ANN SOMERVILLE respectively and I direct that until such purchase shall be made the said Annuities shall be paid out of my general personal estate as from the time of my death I give and bequeath the following annuities to the persons hereinafter mentioned for their respective lives (that is to say) and annuity of two hundred pounds to my son JOHN OTRIDGE an annuity of one hundred pounds to my daughter MARGARET MOGFORD and annuity of fifty pounds to HENRY MOGFORD the husband of my said daughter an Annuity of one hundred and fifty pounds to my daughter CHARLOTTE an annuity of thirty pounds to my daughter JANE PRINGLE widow an Annuity of thirty five pounds to my sister ELIZABETH OTRIDGE and annuity of fifty pounds to my grandson JOHN MOGFORD and annuity of twenty pounds to my grandchildren AMELIA LEROY WILLIAM MOGFORD EDWARD MOGFORD and LOUISA MOGFORD and annuity of forty pounds to my late wife's niece MARY EMILY TOMKINS and an annuity of two hundred pounds to my Ward MARY TAYLOR who resides with me the said Annuities to my said daughters Margaret and Charlotte and to my said granddaughters Amelia Leroy and Louisa Mogford and the said Annuities to the said Mary Emily Tomkins and Mary Taylor to b for their respective separate use and independently of their present or any future husbands and I direct the said annuities to be paid half yearly the first half yearly payment to become due at the end of six calendar months from my decease and I declare my Will to be that in case the amount of my property applicable to the payment of the said Annuities shall not be of a sufficient amount to pay the same in full the same shall abate rateably and in an equal proportion I give and devise to the said Henry Mogford John Mogford and RICHARD PLOWMAN their heirs and assigns all and every my freehold ?? and ?? messuages and tenements and hereditaments and all other real estate whatsoever and wheresoever which I have power to dispose of or appoint by this my Will with their appurtenances (save and except for the estates which are vested in me in trust or by way of mortgage) upon the trusts and for the intents and pruposes hereinafter expressed and ??? of or ??? the same and i give and bequeath all and every my leasehold estates lands and tenements and all my goods chattels ??? and securities for money and other personal estate and effects of or to which I shall be possessed ir ??? at the time of my decease except what I otherwise dispose of by this my Will unto the said Henry Mogford John Mogford and Richard Plowman their heirs executors administrators or assigns upon the trusts hereinafter expressed and declared of or ???? the same ??
