Will of Charles Oatridge 1924 Source: w2: Principal Probate Registry Wills. (269) PPR Will Transcript: I Charles OATRIDGE of Southward House Deal in the County of Kent retired Officer of Customs hereby revoke all Wills Codicils and testementary instruments made by me and declare this to be my last Will 1. I appoint my son William OATRIDGE my son-in-law Stapleton Willey JOB and my son-in-law Henry James Murray CATER (hereinafter called by Trustees to be EXECUTORS and TRUSTEES of this my Will 2. I bequeath to my sister Emma MILNER the sum of One hundred pounds for her separate use free of legacy duty. 3. I devise to my Trustees my house and shop number 22 High Street in the City of Canterbury on trust to pay the net rents and profits thereof to my son John OATRIDGE during his life and after his death to hold the said house and shop as part of my residuary estate. And I declare that my Trustees may in their discretion sell the said house and shop and in such case they shall hold the net proceeds of the sale thereof on the trusts hereinbefore declared of and concerning the said house and shop. 4. I devise my freehold house and shop Numbers 36 and 38 West Street Deal with the workshop stabling and other buildings and ground belonging thereto and in the occupation of my son-in-law the said Stapleton Willey JOB and also my freehold garden ground in the rear thereof to my daughter Elizabeth JOB absolutely. 5. I devise and bequeath all the residue of the real and personal estate to which I shall be entitled at my decease Untl and to the use of of my Trustees their heirs executors or administrators respectively Upon trust to sell call in and convert the same into money and after payment thereof of my debts and funeral and testamentary expenses to pay and divide the same to and among my children the said William OATRIDGE the said Elizabeth JOB Charles OATRIDGE Sarah CATER and the said John OATRIDGE in equal shares IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 24th day of May one thousand nine hundred and twenty four - Charles OATRIDGE - signed by the above named testator as his last Will in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses - G W HARDMAN Solicitor Deal - EDWIN G ROBERTS - Clerk to Messrs Hardman & Sons Solicitors CODICIL: I Charles OATRIDGE of Southward House Deal in the County of Kent retired Officer of Customs hereby declare this to be a Codicil to my Will bearing date the Twenty Fourth day one thousand nine hundred and twenty four Whereas by Clause 4 of my said Will I devised a freehold house and shops and ground in West Street Deal to my daughter Elizabeth JOB and whereas I have since sold the said property Now I therefore revoke the said devise and I bequeath to my said daughter Elizabeth JOB the sum of Fifteen hundred pounds And in all other respects I hereby confirm my said Will IN WITNESS whereof I have hereto set my hand this thirtieth day of June one thousand nine hundred and twenty four - Charles OATRIDGE - signed by the above named testator as a Codicil to his last Will in the presence of us present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses - G W HARDMAN Solicitor Deal - REGINALD FITCH - Clerk to Messrs Hardman & Sons Solicitors DealUpdated on 16 Mar 2006
