Ollie, and Mates;

Let me extend heartiest congratulations to all of us celebrating our 42nd Commissioning Anniversary... 20 June 2000.

If the Good Lord lets me open my bloodshot blue peepers tomorrow, my first waking thought and prayer will be offered in remembrance of all of you, and especially for our departed classmates who we'll all be a day closer to seeing again. To quote Tiny Tim; "God Bless us every one."

Congrats, love, and Best Wishes,

Jim

TO ALL: Greetings on this day - recalling what is probably one of the most defining moments of our lives, certainly one of mine.

As a comparison to the prodigious work of Ollie and others to keep our memories alive I offer a recent experience. While in New Orleans on business I contacted a long lost former colleague, who also happens to be an OCS grad a couple of years after us, and told him of the 58B project. His reaction was " I don't want to remember anything about "that". I suppose there may be some of our own that have similar feelings but I haven't seen any indication in all the traffic since Ollie launched his grand endeavor;
might this not be indicative of the value we receive through "our" network.

Best to all.

It almost got by me. I came to my office this morning....mentally trying to figure out how I was going to be in two places at the same time....I looked at my dayrunner....and then it hit me! Memories of a very hot Texas day. All of us drenched in our full-dress silvertans (not my idea, gang!) under that blazing sun....nervously waiting and hoping the speeches would be short...and then it happened: Jack threw his hat in the air and it was done! I remember someone approching me (probably Gordo...it was the sort of thing he would do....with a smile) and said: "Hey Lieutenant Callicotte! My bar is the same size as yours!" To which I replied...because then I could: "No shit!"

God bless everyone of you and thank God we are still here. You are in my
heart. I'm going to leave the office and as Ollie would say: "Go smell the
roses."

Happy Anniversary to one and all. We have indeed been blessed and continue to
be. There is a little dampness in my eyes whenever I think of our class and the wonderful people compromising the group. I have not seen the design for the shirt maybe I was off that day or missed it on my computer. I am having a lot of problems with crashes. But with the quality work put pit I don't worry will order mine sight unseen. Again Happy Anniversary and many more,
Buz

Dear Classmates:

I have just spent about five minutes at our graduation ceremonies via my dad's movies he took on our graduation day. Of course, some yellow-haired blonde
WAF (I haven't changed a bit) seems to dominate most of the shots, but he did take films of our graduation parade, of the amphitheatre and surroundings (I was
reminded of that skit Mr. Brymer, pardon me, Gordon Brymer was responsible for at our graduation ball the night before, something about a confederate soldier
not returning from the war, when all of the sudden the floodlights light up the whole bank coming down into the amphitheater. Then came the returning soldier
walking down the hill with his hair flowing out behind him. We all nearly fell off our chairs. My dad talked about that for years.) There are some quick shots of all of us coming into the amphitheatre, me coming across the stage (in my dad's notes he had this scene labeled "Doris, our little darling) to get my commission, followed by Emily Deines, where we salute with one hand and take the diploma with the other, a tricky little move as I recall. Then there is the final scene of all the hats going into the air. A good thing there wasn't any sound because the noise would have blown out the bulb on our 40-year-old projector!

If anyone has some 8-millimeter film of OCS days, I would like to gather it all together and make a tape to be shown at our next reunion. Maybe Merlin, our
Webmaster, could put it on the computer.

I've had a fun afternoon with OCS 58B as we looked June 20, 1958. Glad to be among those present on this day.

Think I'll run that film through again.

Your classmate,
Dorie Dowell

The OCS "experience" has always been an endeavor that I take great pride in.
It changed my life so dramatically that I hate to think what kind of life my
family and I might have had without it. None of us knew all of us while
cooperating to graduate... we were all working very hard to make a success of
an opportunity not given to many.. so when graduation day came the reality is
that many "strangers" scattered to the four corners of the globe in pursuit
of a destiny yet to be realized. It is only now because of the efforts of our beloved Ollie , Our Irish Don "The Quinn" and Tiny Jim Colvig and his wonderful wife Lane , And all the others who worked so hard to give us a great reunion, that we realize just how truly wonderful those folks were with whom we struggled so hard so long ago. Ollie has asked that we not forget those on the Honor Roll. How can we forget that bandy legged, skinny and very funny Ben Cacciamani ? Lenny Dice...he was smarter than most but tried to act the dry wit type.. Norman West was another very bright light that kept a pleasant personality even in the darkest of times. John Henry could be mischievous and then be a picture of innocence..... Bob Burt was a lot of fun and a little wild... so those are my memories of some of those a few steps down the road from us.. I'm sure you all have yours.... the point
is. The OCS "Experience" isn't over... not by a long shot! There is a lot more
to come at our future grand and mini reunions... I love you all and wish you
good health, happiness and continued joy in the blessings of your family's.

Nice message, Hal. You are right. Some grads do not want to "remember" or celebrate anything about our OCS experience. To me it was possibly the greatest experience of my 22 years in the AF.

Ollie,

Once again I thank you for unselfishly giving of your time and energy to provide us this service.

Juno restricts my one-shot mailing to only 50 addressees, so I am only mailing this to you for posting.

Can you believe that this day would have passed unnoticed if I hadn't read the messages this evening!!!

Please add my hearty congratulations to all our fantastic classmates.

This event/date is high among those that had the most impact on my life. It opened a whole new life for my family and me. I am indeed grateful for the opportunity and the good fortune to have been chosen as part of THE ONE AND ONLY class 58B.

My deep regret is --- not all our class mates are around to share in this great day. God Bless them... Somehow I feel that they are somewhere - watching, smiling and cheering us on...

Best wishes and (as Tiny Tim would say) God Bless each and everyone of us.

Ollie/all

I was in an elevator in the Air Mobility Command headquarters building
yesterday morning and it came to me that 42 years ago my life changed that
would allow me to stay in the Air Force almost 33 wonderful years. Being accepted and going to OCS was an opportunity that we all should greatly cherish, with some degree of pride. As I read the accounts of fellow classmates, I am once again reminded that we all represented the best America had to offer and that we all loved our country with a passion. Let us continue that passion even amidst the many troublesome problems we as face a nation. Ollie, again thank you for your efforts to keep our memories alive.

To All:

I can't begin to echo all of your sentiments adequately with anything original because all of you have said it already in such an eloquent manner. Suffice it to say the Good Lord gave us the ability to remember the important (and not so important or pleasant) things in our lives. My experience with all of you ranks right up there with the best. Before I get too maudlin let me say God bless you all and see you in Texas next year.

OLLIE

Thank you for keeping all of the wonderful memories from 42 years ago alive.
During such a dynamic period in our lives that brought each of us such lasting friendships and made us so much more richer in this life. Since I was "found" in June 1998 by JQ, my life has not been the same. I have relived that period that forever changed all of our lives more than we could have ever hoped or dreamed. I daily relive it all thru the WEB page for which there is just not enough praise that can be heaped upon Ollie for his dedication and hard work. THANK YOU, OLLIE, is but a small token of our appreciation.

I look upon my calendar and reminisce about 42 years ago, but I also note
that it was just two years ago that I underwent brain surgery to report an aneurysm, spend 5 days in a coma, and then thru the power of prayer everyone offered up, I am here today and am just about back to normal (whatever that was). Thanks guys.

Ollie, Like a lot of things these days my salute to the 58B gang is a little late; however, yesterday my IPO server was down. June 20th l958 was a watershed in my life, the first of three life goals or perhaps dreams came true. I have never forgotten and I 'm still attempting to provide a service to the Country and mankind. I'm proud of the service 58B has given to the Country and the service they continue to give. May the blessings of God go with each member and their family. Frank.

You are so right, Ed. Our OCS experience is not over. We now relive it every day on the 58-B Web Page, at our "Mini-Reunions" and our "Big" Reunions. Thanks, Classmates - this has been great!

Well, time does go by so fast. It is hard to look back on those OCS 58B days and think that it was 42 years ago. I was looking at a stein that was given to me buy my class mates with the inscription " Dad Tracy" on it. It recalled the many times that was spent listening to other's problems and being of help as much as I could. I found out that a listening ear with genuine interest was a great help to those that gave me this cup with appreciation and fellowship during our, sometimes, difficult times. It is interesting to think that I had to go through OCS carrying three flushes over my head. But I settled down and graduated with my gold bars. Yes OCS was a great experience for me, because it gave me the opportunity to meet strangers ,but leave having made friends worthy to remember through the years. So to those who called me Dad, I say thank you for your friendship and for your kindnesses. May God continue to bless us all and comfort those who have lost their loved
ones.

With love for all of 58B,
Jim Tracy

Out of town for a week. Congratulations to all on our 42d Anniversary. I've
been a little under the weather and as a result did not respond on the actual
date (yes, I remember it).

God bless.

Hi soldiers:

From: Jack Walsh

To: Miss Young and all of you great people:

Just been very busy. Besides my cottin' pickin' computer and the wonderful workings of Wyoming.com have just been oh so perfect.  But, back on
line. So many of you have done so well against so many odds that it makes me
proud to have been with you. The "Great Ollie", the "Quinn himself" and "tiny"
Jim, now we're talkin' about some pretty tough geezers. I have the list of all
those of our classmates who answered the last roll call at our last reunion, but
I need an update. Ollie, can you help me?

God Bless You All

Regret sending this spam, but there is a positive side. Please take a look at www.cubalinda.com and you'll see the purpose of my Cuba travel project is not so awful. I add my own reflection on our anniversary. It was truly a defining experience never to be forgotten in any of the daily challenges. I send very best wishes to all and hope to see some of you, at least, in Cuba.
