Published info:
Part One  Part Two.  The Bermuda Beacon by Alva M. Hamilton - This is a great little newsletter devoted to genealogy research in the Bermuda Islands.  Ms. Hamilton has generously given permission for her article on Richard Norwood to be displayed on this web site.  It's fairly long and is presented here in two parts, as they appeared in the newsletter.

Bermuda Today and Yesterday by Terry Tucker - Written by an actual resident of the island, this book has a great deal of information in it for those interested in the early history of Bermuda.  I've extracted here the portion of what is said regarding Richard Norwood and his involvement in the surveying and mapping of the islands.  The book contains several black and white photos of various sites of interest and even a small picture of one of the Norwood maps.

The Generall Historie of Virginia, New-England, and the Summer Isles by John Smith - This book was first published in 1624 as an explanation of John Smith's (of Pocahontas fame) activities in Virginia and as propaganda for colonial expansion in the New World.  The book I looked at was a copy done in 1966.  Unfortunately, there is no index to this book and I found it to be difficult to read both in format and style.  "Mr. Norwood" is mentioned in several places throughout the section on the Summer Isles, but the same info is presented in a clearer manner in Ms. Tucker's book so I don't extract any passages here.
